Summary:
We are looking for an experienced Server Engineer (L3) that would be able to design, implement, troubleshoot server and storage related assignments and provide the appropriate technology solutions etc. L3 technical experts resolve issues that are typically difficult or subtle. L3 engineers participate in management, prioritization, minor enhancements, break fix activities, problem management, stability analysis, etc. These support leaders have specific, deep understanding and expertise in one or two technology platforms (for example, VMware/Hyper-V administrator, a Windows Admin, Linux Admin). L3 engineers are proactive in nature, identifying problems in advance and looking for continuous service improvement opportunities. If a fix involves a major enhancement or a development, then the problem is transferred to engineering or development teams, Level 4. L3 engineers may have root or administrator access to basic systems. L3 engineers generally have 12 or more years of relevant experience.
To successfully operate an IT support operation, whether within an enterprise or within a service provider organization on behalf of Clients, it is critical to be clear on levels of support related to:
Capabilities and responsibilities of the talent involved in providing support and Levels of incident or request treatment related to priority, urgency, escalation treatment and service level agreements (SLAs).
Responsibilities
Good hands on experience on with VMWare ESX platform (VMWare ESX 6.X, 7.X and vCenter 6.X,7.X & Complex problem troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
VMware NSX 6.X deployment knowledge
HPE Server and Storage deployment knowledge.
Creating templates, VM deployments and configuration. Assigning and attaching LUNS.
Working knowledge of ESX, ESXi and Virtual Center servers patching
Knowledge of Advanced administration, OS deployment, configuring ESX servers, managing policies
Should have good experience in design, installation and management of large virtual server farm using VMWare/Hyper-V
Configuration and managing High availability, VMotion, taking snapshots and restoring snapshots of VM""S, Day to day administration and monitoring of VM ware infrastructure.
Good hands on experience in resolving complex tickets assigned to the team through the Help Desk Ticketing system. Troubleshoot and resolve VMWare and Windows general server related issues with Root cause analysis.
VCP4 VCP5 Preferred.
Knowledge of Advanced troubleshooting administration ESX Service Console & VCLI Console
Working knowledge of VMA & VMware Power CLI
Configuration and management of ESX Servers, VMware Virtual Centers, VMware Clusters, VMware DRS and VMware HA.
Server consolidation & virtualization (P2V) using VM Convertor.
Expertise in Disaster Recovery of VM’s (Clustering, VMotion)
Shared-storage configuration using iSCSI, FC and DAS. vMotion, vMotion, ESX-cli/PowerCLI/PowerShell scripting. VCB backup, vData Recovery and Backup Exec integration.
Responsible for a large virtual infrastructure running VMware vSphere version 5.15 and 5.1.
In depth knowledge of VMware Heartbeat, Autodeploy, Host profiles, dvSwitches, storage clusters and performance tuning ESXi.
Experience with vSphere problem determination and root cause analysis investigation
Experience automating tasks with scripting and programing languages such as PowerShell
Ability to design robust processes for complex problems
Ability to recognize relationships and interdependencies between systems and processes
Ensure proper communications with the customer and manager and send periodic reports to keep all the stake holders informed about project progress
Ensure highest level of customer service and satisfaction in all projects
Willing to travel to different job locations in a shorter notice and also stay till the project is completed
Required skills
Database administration, Windows & Linux server including command line interface.
Experience in a fast-pace environment, need good time management, solid communication skills, and quick response.
Proficiency in interacting with clients
Working knowledge of the Software Life Cycle
Excellent organizational, and support case management skills
Hands-on experience providing end-user support in a high availability, mission critical support operation. Managed Services Support experience is a plus
Excellent communications skills and the ability to communicate effectively at all levels both within and outside the organization
Ability to interface with external contacts while favourably representing Jibe in the marketplace
Strong knowledge of standard hardware & software configurations, Storage and Computing preferred
Successful communicator at all levels using all media, with excellent interpersonal skills.
Demonstrates skill, knowledge and understanding of company, products, job duties, and appropriate work methods.
Familiarity with IBM, HPE Blade and x86 hardware architecture
Strong Communication skills in both Written and Spoken
Must have excellent interpersonal and time management skills
Detail Oriented, Multi-tasking and able to deal with tight deadlines and stress
Must be able to learn new technologies quickly
Must be a team Player
Education, Experience and Certification
B.E(IT/CS/ECE) / B. Tech / M.Sc. (IT/CS/ECE) /MCA with min 12 years’ relevant experience.
SNIA Storage engineer, VMware certified expert, etc.
Microsoft certified storage engineer.
Strong presentation skills, both verbal and written, including writing product copy
Excellent time management, interpersonal, communications, decision making, and organization skills
